Towards Sensuous Ecologies is a lecture by choreographer and researcher Dalija Aćin Thelander on designing performance and spaces that centre perception, agency and communality for babies, neurodivergent children and their adults.
Drawing on her multi-year research projectTowards sensuous ecologies – Rethinking ableism in choreographic and movement practices (Swedish Research Council; Stockholm University of the Arts), Dalija shares methods for building relational, immersive, sensory environments, and reflects on how rethinking ableism can transform artistic process, audience experience and hosting practices.
Expect a vivid mix of theory and practical examples from performances, workshops and field research, with time for Q&A.
This talk is part of our Early Years - Conversations and Exchanges series during Playground Festival. Find out more about the series.
